Laval is a French city with a rich historical
heritage, located on the picturesque banks of the Mayenne River. The famous painter
Henri Russo was born here, the town has an impressive 12th century castle in
its centre, and the local cathedral and basilica are also fine examples of
ecclesiastical architecture with more than 1000 years of history.
